I’m getting that feeling I used to get as a kid; when I had to come back in the house on a late summer’s night knowing the rest of my friends were still next door being princes of youth. The feeling itself is an experience that shaped the worth of what was missing, and from it I found the valor and fulfillment in sharing moments basked in the fluorescent glow of a garage. The absence found in nonattendance is within reason, in fact reason would be it’s core, yet reason isn’t what changes the vacancy sign placed within my thoughts.

Occupancy is a thing to be treasured, to be carefully incubated until it grows to be strong and independent. It will be nourished by the parents that birthed it, and once fully-grown will help to keep it’s parents together. 

But there will undoubtedly be visitors who hold no such permanence, and sometimes they’ll stay longer than expected and at other times shorter than expected, but in the end they’re just visitors and the key is to not expect anything.

I’m still learning to be fine with this.  
I still get that feeling I did as a kid.
